The Pleated Merino Wool Scarf XL in Melange Grey delivers sculptural texture and versatile wear. Knitted in Como from ultra-fine 100% merino wool, the engineered rib expands from 30 to 90 cm, so it works as a classic scarf or a generous shoulder wrap. Size 200 × 30 cm (expands to 200 × 90 cm), approx. 360 g. Italian-spun and dyed yarns, finished at a luxury atelier. Available in Solid Navy Blue, Solid Black, Melange Grey and Melange Brown.

Created by the ZigZagZurich Studio, the Pleated Merino Wool Scarf XL translates the discipline of Japanese pleating into a soft, wearable form. In Melange Grey, the tonal mix catches light along the ribs, emphasizing movement as the fabric shifts from narrow to wide. A quiet statement that travels from neat neck wrap to elegant shawl, connecting design culture with contemporary comfort.

Made in Como from Italian-spun, ultra-fine 100% merino, the precision rib creates lasting pleats and a comfortable stretch from 30–90 cm. To order custom curtains, start by measuring your window or track width. You’ll then choose your desired fullness in the next step – we’ll take care of the final curtain width based on that.

Step 1: Measure the Width & Height

  • Track width: Measure the total width of your curtain rail or track.
  • Window width: If you don’t have a rail yet, measure the full width of your window and add extra space if you want the curtains to extend beyond the frame.

Take 3 measurements – from the top of the curtain track (or where you plan to install it) to the floor or desired curtain length:

  • Left side
  • Middle
  • Right side

Step 2: Choose Your Fullness

Fullness refers to the extra fabric used to create a soft, wavy drape. While you provide the actual width of your window or track, we use that as a base and apply additional fabric to achieve the desired visual effect.

You’ll select your preferred fullness in the next step

  • Exact (0%) – Clean and minimalist, no extra fabric.
  • Minimalist (+10%) – A slight gather, simple and modern.
  • Standard Modern (+50%) – A balanced, softly pleated look.
  • Luxurious (+100%) – Deep folds and a rich, elegant drape.

Sustainability Commitment

Cold wash on a wool program (max 30 °C) using a mild wool detergent. Place the scarf in a mesh laundry bag, rinse thoroughly, and gently press out excess water without wringing. Do not tumble dry—reshape the pleats by hand and lay flat to dry away from heat and direct sunlight. If needed, steam lightly or iron on low with a pressing cloth, taking care not to flatten the pleats. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and harsh chemicals; store clean and fully dry.
