The Pleated Merino Wool Scarf XL in Melange Brown combines architectural pleats with practical versatility. Knitted in Como from ultra-fine 100% merino wool, it stretches from 30 to 90 cm in width, so you can wear it as a scarf or drape it as a shoulder wrap. Size 200 × 30 cm (expands to 200 × 90 cm), approx. 360 g. Italian-spun and dyed yarns, finished at a luxury atelier. Available in Solid Navy Blue, Solid Black, Melange Grey and Melange Brown.

Pleats Reimagined for Everyday Elegance

Designed by the ZigZagZurich Studio, the Pleated Merino Wool Scarf XL pays tribute to Issey Miyake’s sculptural pleats while keeping the feel softly wearable. The ribbed structure forms natural folds that breathe, move and expand, shifting from a slim scarf to a generous shawl. In Melange Brown, the palette adds quiet depth, letting texture take the lead—a piece that turns warmth into a subtle act of design.

Knitted in Como from Italian-spun, ultra-fine 100% merino wool, the fabric uses a precision rib that creates permanent pleating and a comfortable stretch from 30–90 cm in width. The yarn’s long fibres provide natural softness, warmth and breathability while resisting pilling. Approx. 360 g; dimensions 200 × 30 cm expanding to 200 × 90 cm. Crafted with traceable materials and responsible processes, certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 (24CX00094 CENTROCOT) and Responsible Wool Standard (RWS).

To order custom curtains, start by measuring your window or track width. You’ll then choose your desired fullness in the next step – we’ll take care of the final curtain width based on that.

Step 1: Measure the Width & Height

  • Track width: Measure the total width of your curtain rail or track.
  • Window width: If you don’t have a rail yet, measure the full width of your window and add extra space if you want the curtains to extend beyond the frame.

Take 3 measurements – from the top of the curtain track (or where you plan to install it) to the floor or desired curtain length:

  • Left side
  • Middle
  • Right side

Step 2: Choose Your Fullness

Fullness refers to the extra fabric used to create a soft, wavy drape. While you provide the actual width of your window or track, we use that as a base and apply additional fabric to achieve the desired visual effect.

You’ll select your preferred fullness in the next step

  • Exact (0%) – Clean and minimalist, no extra fabric.
  • Minimalist (+10%) – A slight gather, simple and modern.
  • Standard Modern (+50%) – A balanced, softly pleated look.
  • Luxurious (+100%) – Deep folds and a rich, elegant drape.

Sustainability Commitment

Cold wash on a wool program (max 30 °C) using a mild wool detergent. Place the scarf in a mesh laundry bag, rinse thoroughly, and gently press out excess water without wringing. Do not tumble dry—reshape the pleats by hand and lay flat to dry away from heat and direct sunlight. If needed, steam lightly or iron on low with a pressing cloth, taking care not to flatten the pleats. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and harsh chemicals; store clean and fully dry.
